We've been fortunate to have a mild winter so far, but you can feel that colder weather working its way through your jacket on some of these windy days.
Nothing helps warm you up like a hot coffee (with baileys) or tea on the couch and turning on the fireplace.
But have you checked your chimney?
Before firing up that little piece of ambiance, you might want to make sure you don't have any unwanted tenants in there. Not only do you have to be careful of creosote build up, which can cause a chimney fire, but sometimes critters of all shapes and sizes seek shelter.
An example below of the ever so popular chimney swift. A smaller bird that has the ability of using mud and twigs to create a nest that sticks to the inside of the chimney.
As you can see form the picture, they have some wild parties in there.
